March Big Month of Music 2020

Our partners, The Music Partnership, City of Stoke on Trent Music Service and Entrust Stafford, are holding a March Big Month of Music. If you are interested in finding out about music-making opportunities for children and young people, please see their website for more information. There are Try Events where you can try out local music ensembles as well as concerts, festivals and the final of the Stoke-on-Trent Young Musician of the Year. Follow updates on Facebook.

Stoking Curiosity

We had a stall at the recent Stoking Curiosity event at the Spode Potbank in Stoke-on-Trent and were really pleased to hear from lots of local people about similar activities and charitable schemes that we can join in with. Thanks to all those who stopped by to find out more about the project – we look forward to expanding our network in 2020!

Community Music Day June 2019

On 29 June 2019, we invited local musicians of all ages and people keen to find out about music to the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Despite the rocketing temperatures and a lot of competing events, we had a good number of people come through the doors to find out more about making music in the local area.

People of all ages interested in music came along to find out more, show off their own skills and try out new instruments. Music teachers brought their ensembles to perform, we learned a new song, and much music was made!

Children came to try out new instruments and we managed to help a little boy make his first real sound on a flute and a trumpet! He’s looking forward to starting flute lessons in September with Entrust Music Service.

Playing the flute isn’t as easy as you might think – it’s all about the technique!
